for all the funk lovers and hip hop heads. brownout did an album with public enemy tune covers. very free interpretation, very deep funk and very good IMO! check!

It's not bad capullo but I think they missed the mark not including the vocals since Chuck D's voice/lyrics were an integral part of the music. I didn't know Fatbeats was still around either, I was recently strolling near their old location in the city which is now some useless shop or another like so many other places in NY so good to know they're online.

Your post about funk reminded me about this album I saw recently called Mother's Garden: The Funky Sounds Of Female Africa 1975-1984 and particularly this track by Miriam Makeba - "Xica Da Silva" which you can hear right here https://www.juno.co.uk/products/mothers ... 691204-01/ if you're interested Cap. The chorus had me zoned out something nice when I first heard it...I think it's a cover of another tune though I just recently saw.
